So, I’m at work reading the cookbook published by the Junior League of Lafayette, LA. I know, I just reached a new level of Southern. In New York.

I’m reading a recipe for Fresh Peach Pie. Here are the ingredients. Tell me if you see something that seems a little out of place.

Pie shell and top, unbaked

6 very large peaches

2 Tbsp. Flour

1/2 c. Sugar

MACE

Salt

4 Tbsp. Butter

1 Tbsp. Lemon juice

Mace?! What?!
